Enjoy an evening of poetry to celebrate National Poetry Month at our Poetry Cafe.
Jim Brosnan will read excerpts from his latest collection of poems, Long Distance Driving, as well as share some vignettes about his travels through the Midwest and other states west of the Mississippi.
We'll also have a selection of pastries generously donated by the Italian Gem Cafe on Center St. and beverages.
You must register for this event to help us ensure we have enough for everyone.
Most appropriate for adults, ages 18+.
Jim has had more than 1,000 poems published in literary journals around the world including in the US, Canada, Ireland, England, Singapore, India, Wales, and Germany. His first poetry collection was titled, Nameless Roads.
Jim is a professor at Johnson & Wales University where he's has been teaching poetry and creative writing for the past 32 years. He also previously taught at Bristol Community College, the University of New England (Maine) and Notre Dame College (New Hampshire). He has won numerous awards from the National Federation of State Poetry Societies and is a board member of the Maine Poets Society. Jim is also a member of the Academy of American Poets, the Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance, and the Poetry Society of Vermont, among others.
