Program Description

Event Details

Each year, about 15,000 vessels travel through the Cape Cod Canal. Presenter Nancy Franks will help you discover the rich history of this 17.4-mile man-made waterway. Explore the construction of the present-day Bourne Bridge, Sagamore Bridge, and Railroad Bridge. Peek at the two replacement bridges that will be constructed over the next decade and hopefully ease our traffic woes.

The presentation will be followed by a drawing, with prizes related to milestones for the Cape Cod Canal and the three bridges.

Franks is a retired elementary teacher who taught for 32 years in Plymouth Public Schools. Her company, FRANKly Speaking, is her "retirement job."
